I know for me, eating a high-fiber diet is really helpful. My blood sugar is more stable, and there are other benefits, both obvious and not-so-apparent. Sometimes when people first start cutting carbs they find they have cut back on fiber also, but there are lots of high-fiber foods that are low in carbs. Also, a frightening report from the CDC and ammo to help get ready for Halloween. Have a great week - Laura

High Fiber, Low Carb
One of the myths about low-carb eating is that it is necessarily low in fiber. There is no reason for this, as there are lots of foods which are low in carbs while being high in fiber.

CDC Predicts Huge Rise in Diabetes
On Friday, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) issued a report that if trends continue, up to one-third of adults in the United States will have diabetes by the year 2050 (1 in 10 have it now). If that isn't a clear indication for cutting carbs, I don't know what is! Even worse: many of the horrible complications of diabetes can show up before the diagnosis.
