From Shereen Jegtvig, your Guide to Nutrition
This week I want to talk about raw milk. It may be tasty, but is it dangerous? Maybe you don't consume milk - if not, you'll need to get calcium and vitamin D from other foods or supplements. I can help you with that.

Have a great week.

Shereen

Raw Milk Safety
Raw milk has become a bit of a controversial topic. While you can't buy milk in the grocery stores in the United States, you may be able to buy it locally depending on your state laws.

What is Pasteurization?
A reader asks, "What does 'pasteurized' mean? What process does the milk or fruit juice go through when it is pasteurized?"

Alternative Sources of Calcium
Can't drink milk due to intolerance or sensitivity? Or maybe you just don't like it? You can still get calcium from other food sources.

Vitamin D Supplements - D2 or D3?
Vitamin D is added to milk to help your body absorb the calcium. There are two forms of supplemental vitamin D - D2 and D3. Does the type of vitamin D matter?
