I want to share a quick story with you.
I was just a little boy, about to go on my first fishing trip with
my dad.
Now at the time my grandmother lived on a lake, and I had sat on the
dock beside the house trying to catch fish many times before.
I never got a single bite.
But this time was different.
Instead of just sitting on the dock, where it was easy to sit and
fish. We got in a little fishing boat, and we went to the part of
the lake that no one ever fished, but where all the fish were.
It was a shaded area, that was unspoiled. Once we got close we
killed the motor, and slowly coasted into the area to be undetected
by the fish.
I put a worm on the hook of my little cain fishing pole, and as soon
as I dropped the line in the lake, I got my first bite.
That day I caught five fish, and my dad an amazing ten fish. Not to
mention a 15 pound catfish. (Catfish is good eatin' by the way)
What made the difference?
Instead of thinking like fishermen, we thought like fish.
We went where the fish were, and just dropped our lines in.
It was almost too easy.
This is exactly how picking the right niche is. Most people go
where they are comfortable or go after what they "think" is a good
niche, but what they really should be doing is going where the
money is.
If you haven't read it yet, check out the 5 Niche Lies that have
been spread for year about picking a niche.
Talk soon,
Jared
p.s. If you are a bit curious, I just posted an old pic of me as a
boy about to go fishing on Facebook.
